Apply Now for Optional Practical Training (OPT)

If your status is F-1, and Fall 2014 is your final semester, the last date we recommend that you apply for OPT is November 23rd.

To apply for OPT, you must have already filed a Degree Audit Application Form (DAAF). DAAFs will NOT be accepted for Winter 2015 graduation after October 14th.

In addition, you will need a letter from your departmental advisor stating your expected date of completion, as well as a second letter from Graduation Audit in the One Stop Office (North 217) stating that you have applied for graduation. These letters must be submitted to the International Students Office (E1109).

Green Cards for International Students

Would you like to have the chance to attain a green card? Apply for the 2016 Diversity Immigrant Visa Program where over five thousand green cards are given to lucky winners! Registration is between now and November 3, 2014 at 12 noon. A confirmation number will be given. Please use the link below to check your status on May 5, 2015. Registration is free.

Do You Have Travel Plans?

Are you planning to travel outside the United States during the fall or winter months? If so, please visit our office at least one week before your planned departure date and ask an International Student Advisor to sign your I-20 or DS-2019. Remember that re-entry to the United States requires a recent (within 12 months or within 6 months if you are on OPT) signature from a Designated School Official for F-1 status holders or an Alternate Responsible Officer for J-1 Exchange Visitor holders.
