Apply Now for Optional Practical Training (OPT)

If your status is F-1, and Fall 2014 is your final semester, the last date we recommend that you apply for OPT is November 23rd.

To apply for OPT, you must have already filed a Degree Audit Application Form (DAAF). DAAFs will NOT be accepted for Winter 2015 graduation after October 14th.

In addition, you will need a letter from your departmental advisor stating your expected date of completion, as well as a second letter from Graduation Audit in the One Stop Office (North 217) stating that you have applied for graduation. These letters must be submitted to the International Students Office (E1109).

To download the Optional Practical Training application forms, including samples of the two letters described above, please visit: http://www.hunter.cuny.edu/studentservices/is/repository/files/Optional%20Practical%20Training%20form%20and%20instructions4-24-2011.pdf.

Students are required make appointments to file an OPT application. To make an appointment with an International Student Advisor, please contact Iris Aroyewun-Birchwood at: iaroyewu@hunter.cuny.edu or Xavier Remigio at xremigio@hunter.cuny.edu.
