OPT Information For F-1 Students
If Spring 2015 is your last semester and you plan to apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT), you should apply no later than one month before your completion date or final examination date on Friday, May 22.
If you file for OPT later than April 22, it may reduce the amount of time that you are allowed to work in the United States.

Do You Have Travel Plans this Semester?
Are you planning to travel outside the United States during the spring 2015 semester? If so, please remember that re-entry to the United States requires a recent (within a year) signature from a Designated School Official for F-1 status holders or an Alternate Responsible Officer for J-1 Exchange Visitor holders.
Come to our office at least 2 weeks before your planned departure date and ask an International Student Advisor to sign your I-20 or DS-2019. If you are on Optional Practical Training (OPT) for F-1 status students or Academic Training (AT) for J-1Exchange Visitors, you will require an updated signature every six months.
In addition, if you have recently applied for post-completion OPT you should ask an International Students Advisor regarding whether you can travel or if you should wait for your EAD card to arrive.
Are you interested in receiving updates and announcements from the International Students Office?
If yes, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the list.
