If you file for OPT later than a month before the last final exam, it may reduce the amount of time that you are allowed to work in the United States. Optional Practical Training appointments are now available with the International Student Advisors.

Do You Have Travel Plans?
Are you planning to travel outside the United States during the winter session or spring 2015 semester? If so, please remember that re-entry to the United States requires a recent (within a year) signature from a Designated School Official for F-1 status holders or an Alternate Responsible Officer for J-1 Exchange Visitor holders. Come to our office at least 2 weeks before your planned departure date and ask an International Student Advisor to sign your I-20 or DS-2019. If you are on Optional Practical Training (OPT) for F-1 status students or Academic Training (AT) for J-1Exchange Visitors, you will require an updated signature every six months.
In addition, if you have recently applied for post-completion OPT you should ask an International Students Advisor regarding whether you can travel or if you should wait for your EAD card to arrive.
Are you interested in receiving updates and announcements from the International Students Office?
If yes, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the list.
