Global Classroom Application and Training

One To World's Global Classroom program trains international university students and Fulbright scholars to be Global Guides in public schools and after-schools throughout New York City, where you can lead interactive workshops about world cultures and global issues. As a Global Guide, you will learn to design workshops through the training and mentorship of Global Classroom staff. A Global Classroom staff member also joins you in the classroom to support and co-facilitate your workshop.

This event is free, lunch is included.

Information Session for F–1 Status Students:

Optional Practical Training (OPT)

If you are an international student, and the Spring 2016 semester is your last semester, and you plan to apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT), you should apply by April 28th. If you file for OPT later than April 28th, it may reduce the amount of time that you are allowed to work in the United States.

Post-completion Optional Practical Training appointments are now available with the International Student Advisors. Contact Iris Aroyewun-Birchwood at or Xavier Remigio at for an OPT application appointment.

How To Apply:
To apply for OPT, students must first file a Degree Audit Application Form (DAAF) by March 1st. Forms can be found at the One Stop For Students website. OPT applicants must submit two letters to the International Students Office (ISO), one from their departmental advisor stating that the student will complete their studies, and another letter from the One Stop Office (located in Room 217, North Building), stating that they have submitted their DAAF.

The Charles & Lucille King Scholarship

Available to International Students

The Charles & Lucille King Family Foundation undergraduate scholarships of up to $2,500 per academic year are awarded to juniors and seniors majoring in television and film.

Applications and all support materials must be received no later than March 15 for the following academic year (2016-2017).

Tax Information for International Students

CUNY requires all International Students to register in GLACIER to determine their tax status before they may receive any money from fellowships, scholarships, or teaching or research assistantships. CUNY also makes the GLACIER TaxPrep online software available to students to help them prepare their annual U.S. tax returns.

To get started, please fill out our online form.

You will need to provide your identifying information, such as your name, and how long you have resided in the United States. CUNY will email you a code so that you can register in the Glacier TaxPrep online software to help you prepare your tax forms.

CUNY-CAP Counseling Assistantship Program Jobs

Available to International Students

This scholarship is for students who are enrolled (or will be enrolled) as matriculated students in a CUNY graduate program. Students must have received a bachelor's degree from a CUNY college. Students will work from 15-20 hours at a CUNY college for a salary of $10/hr, and will be eligible for a tuition waver of up to six credits per semester.
