Hunter Takes Precautions to Protect Students, Faculty and Staff During the Flu Season!
As part of the public health campaign, Hunter College has distributed personal bottles of hand sanitizer at key locations around the campus.
The goal is to protect everyone at Hunter, so we need to make the supply last. Pick up a bottle whenever you need one, but please take and use just one at a time.
The hand sanitizers have been placed in baskets in high-traffic locations, including:
- Brookdale Residence Hall
- Public safety stations
- Libraries
- Registrar's Office
- The Welcome Center
- Student Services' Office
- Health Office
- OASIS
- Financial Aid Office
- USG's Office
We have also provided bottles for each academic department, and we will monitor supplies to keep them as current as possible.
Meanwhile, please take common-sense steps against infection.
- Wash your hands with soap and water every chance you get.
- Keep your hands away from your mouth, nose or eyes.
- Cover your mouth when coughing and sneezing - inside the crook of your elbow is best.
- Stay home if you’re sick, and wait 24 hours after your fever goes away before going out again.
- Get vaccinated for both the seasonal and the H1N1 flu.
For additional information, please continue to visit Hunter's "Flu Prevention and Preparedness" website. We encourage everyone to read it carefully and to return to it regularly for updates. you can reach it from the Hunter homepage, or directly at: www.hunter.cuny.edu/flu.
