Help promote mental health by building a connected community here at Hunter. Come join us for interactive activities and conversations in addition to free giveaways!

Crossing Cultures: Building Social Connections

Join us for a seven-week group at the Counseling and Wellness Center. All undergraduate students are welcome. This is a co-ed group which will provide students the opportunity to explore issues related to acculturation, cultural identity, adjustment and life transitions while providing an opportunity to connect with other students.

What Documents to Bring:

To enroll in free or low-cost health insurance, you must provide proof of age, identity, residence, income and possibly U.S. citizenship or qualified immigrant status. Some examples:

Proof of Age & Identity

  • Driver's license/official photo ID
  • Passport
  • Birth or baptismal/religious certificate Official school or adoption records

Proof of Residency/Home Address

  • Government ID card with address
  • Postmarked envelope or postcard
  • Utility bill (gas, electric, cable, water, phone)
  • Correspondence from government agency

Proof of Income

Provide the most recent proof of income before taxes and deductions. Submit all that apply.

  • Wages and salary or Self-Employment
  • Unemployment Benefits
  • Private Pensions/Annuities
  • Social Security
  • Child Support/Alimony
  • Worker's Compensation

Are you worried about a friend or classmate? Have you ever wanted to talk to a fellow student dealing with a problem, but weren't sure how? In this unique, game-based simulation you will learn how to determine when a friend needs help, how to talk to a friend you're worried about, and where you and your friend can turn for help. Kognito At-Risk takes 20-30 minutes to complete, is available 24/7 and can be completed in multiple sittings as necessary. As a bonus, all students who complete Kognito At-Risk will be automatically entered to win a $30 gift card. Kognito At-Risk is available to Hunter College students only.
