Get the Shot, Not the Flu!

Hunter College is partnering with CityMD to provide seasonal flu vaccines for Hunter College students to support student health and wellness. Beginning 10/19/17, for a limited time you can get a flu shot at any one of the 75+ CityMD locations for FREE when you present a valid Hunter OneCard (ID card).

Search all New York / New Jersey CityMD locations

Remember, you must bring your valid Hunter ID. (If you do have healthcare insurance City MD will accept your medical insurance co-pay, if any, for the vaccine - in this case please also bring your healthcare coverage card.) For more information about the flu and vaccines, visit the Centers for Disease Control's website at www.cdc.gov/flu or CUNY's Flu Resources page by clicking here.

David J. Garrow - Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama

Please join us at Roosevelt House as we welcome Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David J. Garrow, discussing his latest book, Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama, the definitive account of the president's formative years.

In his talk, Garrow will examine Obama's childhood in Honolulu, where he was raised almost exclusively by his white grandparents, his college years in California and New York and his work as a Chicago community organizer. He will also discuss Obama's years at Harvard Law School, and how, upon his return to Chicago, Obama honed his skills as a politician, culminating in Obama's four years in the U. S. Senate, and his campaign for the presidency in 2008. Garrow will focus as well on the people and forces that shaped the future president but also the ways in which he used those influences to serve his larger aspirations.

Date: Wednesday, October 25
Time: 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Place: Roosevelt House Institute for Public Policy, 47-49 East 65th St, NYC
