Hunter Mellon Arts Fellowship Program

You could get paid while pursuing your love of the arts! This fellowship program offers funding, mentorship, and professional development for students from historically underrepresented backgrounds interested in pursuing careers in the arts.

Mellon Arts Fellows participate in a full-time arts organization internship the summer after junior year, and are supported with a fixed stipend of $4,200. Fellows continue their internship part-time during the fall semester of their senior year, supported by an additional stipend.

The program also provides extensive professional development, training, and application support for graduate study.

2018 Behrend Arts Fellowship

The Catherine Hannah Behrend Fellowship will provide two rising stars in visual arts management with executive-level mentors, invitations to high-level planning and strategy sessions, meetings with the 92nd Street Y programming directors, and access to the wider 92Y staff and community.

Fellows receive immersive instruction in visual arts management via monthly one-on-one meetings with senior directors in various 92Y departments, including marketing, development, innovation, education, budgeting, programming. These leaders provide behind-the-scenes perspectives on ongoing projects, challenges, and systems in their respective areas. Over the course of the year, Fellows also have the opportunity to work on a visual arts project meaningful to them.
