International Students Office

Hunter College, CUNY, is one of the most diverse colleges in the United States. International students from all corners of the world are enrolled as F-1 and J-1 Exchange students. The International Students Office (ISO) coordinates all F1 and J1 immigration aspects and administrative services for international students at Hunter College.

About Us

The International Students Office (ISO) at Hunter College supports the academic success and cultural integration of international students and scholars in undergraduate, graduate, and some advanced certificate programs. ISO provides immigration services, ensures compliance with U.S. immigration regulations (F1 and J1), and promotes awareness within the college community. Our office fosters institutional partnerships, offers resources through workshops and its website, and serves as a liaison to the U.S. Department of State and Homeland Security all to create a welcoming and supportive environment for international students.

Important Deadlines

2025-2026 Deadlines
Application Type Deadline Notes
Admission Application Deadline: Spring September 15  
Admission Application Deadline: Fall February 1  
Tax Filing Deadline April 15 If April 15 falls on a weekend or a legal holiday, the deadline is shifted to the next business day. Students who did not earn any income that year have a deadline of June 15.
OPT Filing for Fall Graduation February 19  
OPT Filing for Spring Graduation  July 20  
STEM OPT Deadline Varies Check your post-completion OPT EAD card to figure out the deadline. The last day that your STEM OPT must be received is the date of expiry of your EAD card.
Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery Deadline November 4
