Presenter: Ms. Jennie Smith is a volunteer at the Greater New York Chapter of the American Red Cross for the last three years. As a volunteer she has responded to dozens of local disasters from apartment fires to crane collapses providing instant relief to victims of the disaster as well as to the first responders. Besides volunteering as a responder Jennie teaches many of the chapter’s entry-level courses to hundreds of employees and volunteers on a monthly basis, and supervises the Youth Disaster Action Corps. She has taken the lead on several fixed feeding sites, and has trained extensively as a Shelter Manager.

The Student Leadership Colloquium is held four times a semester and is designed to introduce students to new and different concepts and theories of leadership, and to offer them opportunities to enhance their leadership skills. It is designed as an information tool whereby students are exposed to, and have an opportunity to dialogue with, professionals representing a variety of educational and career fields. Students who attend ALL presentations will receive a Certificate of Attendance from the Dean of Students Office
