WELCOME TO THE TRANSFER STUDENT NETWORK

We are happy that you have decided to continue your education with Hunter College. Our goal is to help you navigate the rest of your college years successfully so your experience at Hunter is both rewarding and academically challenging. Once you arrive, you will experience a bustling and dynamic campus. We have many excellent staff and faculty in a wide range of academic disciplines and student support functions to help ensure your success. Additionally, many social, cultural, and leadership opportunities exist on campus with student organizations, clubs, and activities.

Once you have accepted your admission to Hunter, we will contact you and invite you to attend one of many Transfer Student Orientation and Advising sessions we conduct. At this orientation, you will learn about General Education Requirements (GER), registration details, and other various topics related to your education. You will also have the opportunity to meet with an Academic Advisor to map out a plan to incorporate the credits you have transferred to complete your Hunter degree in an effective and timely manner.

We also conduct Transfer Advising Week for newly entering transfer students, as well as Faculty Week in which you can meet with faculty members from various departments around the College.  Both of these events occur during your first semester. Conducting programs such as these is part of our commitment to your success at Hunter.

We encourage you to visit the Transfer Check List web page. At this web site, there are numerous resources available to ease your transition to Hunter. This page outlines various steps to follow so you are prepared for academic advising and registration.

Again, we welcome you to campus, and look forward to working with you soon.
