The Reading/Writing Center assists students to develop Reading and Writing skills with tutoring, workshops, computer-based programs and a resource library.

Priority Registration for Weekly Tutoring for Veterans:
Each semester, students may register for a regular appointment to meet with a tutor, for an hour once a week throughout the whole semester. These regular appointments are in high demand and fill up early each semester, but the center is offering Hunter veterans Priority Registration for these tutoring sessions. Veterans may go to the Center and register for a regular weekly tutor as early as the first day of classes each semester, while other Hunter students generally do not begin until the second week of classes to register. Take advantage of this great opportunity to have priority access to a tutor and improve your reading and writing skills!

Dolciani Math Learning Center

The Dolciani Math Learning Center assists students develop their Math skills with tutoring, workshops, multimedia materials, problem session series and brush up skills. Many resources are available online at their website, and tutors and course-specific problem sessions can be accessed every semester. They also offer the pre-101 workshop to students who need it prior to taking MATH101.

Veterans Tutoring Program

Hunter College’s Office of Veteran Affairs is pleased to participate in the Veterans’ Administration’s Tutorial Assistance Program.  Veterans, active-duty military personnel, and reservists receiving funding assistance from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs may qualify for tutorial assistance. Students enrolled at least halftime may qualify. Payments are allowed when students demonstrate deficiency in courses that are required for their degree programs.
