HOW TO REGISTER
Step 1:
Registration for Degree Students for Summer 2009 will begin on March 17, 2009. Non-Degree Student (Undergraduate) / Non-Matriculated Student (Graduate) registration will begin in April 14, 2009. The Senior Citizen Auditors will begin June 2, 2009.

Late Registration will be held from June 1 - 3, 2009 for Summer Session I and July 13 - 14, 2009 for Summer Session II.

  • Registration begins at 9am on the first day of each period and is open 6am - 3am daily until the registration period ends.
  • All students (even those for whom attendance is optional) must report to classes during first week of classes. Students will lose their place in some science laboratory classes if they do not attend the first class meeting.
  • When switching classes, use the “Replace” feature. DO NOT use the Add/Drop option.

Step 2:
Follow the regular registration procedures using the CUNY Portal. Registration instructions are available at: http://registrar.hunter.cuny.edu. Click "Learn how to Register" on the left menu bar.

SUMMER FINANCIAL AID
Summer financial aid (Federal Pell, Federal Direct Loans, etc.) is available to Hunter students taking at least 6 credits total during Summer 2009 (during one session or over both Summer I and Summer II Sessions).

To apply, make sure you complete your 2009-2010 FAFSA as soon as possible, and indicate that you plan to register for the Summer 2009 session. If awarded, your financial aid package will be disbursed over the Summer ‘09, Fall ‘09 and Spring ‘10 semesters.

Information Regarding NYS Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) Eligibility During Summer Session
*Note: Summer Session is considered Accelerated TAP*

In addition to Maintaining Good Academic Standing and by being in Pursuit of Program and Maintaining Satisfactory Progress (see existing requirements for TAP), to be eligible for summer session TAP, students must also:

  • have earned at least 24 credits over the previous Fall (2008) and Spring (2009) semesters from the same institution applicable to your degree;
  • have been registered for at least 12 credits during the previous Spring (2009) semester; and,
  • register for and take at least 6 total credits during Summer 2009 (during one session or over both Summer 1 and Summer 2 sessions).

To apply for Summer 2009 TAP, remember to indicate that you will be registering for courses during the Summer 2009 session on your TAP application
