Students from other CUNY colleges who wish to take a summer course at Hunter should follow the procedures established by the home college for taking courses on permit. Applications for e-permits will be available through the CUNY Portal.

Non-CUNY Students: Undergraduate

Step 1: Complete an Application
Non-CUNY Students interested in registering for undergraduate courses must complete an undergraduate non-degree application and pay a $65 application fee which is collected at the time of first registration. Undergraduate Non-Degree Summer Session Application Deadline: April 1st
(Applications received after the deadline will be considered based on space availability.)

After completing and returning the application, students will be mailed registration and enrollment information.

You can obtain this application in several ways:

  • Download the Undergraduate Application (PDF)

  • Email a Request:
    You can request an application from the Welcome Center via e-mail to admissions@hunter.cuny.edu. An application and information will be mailed to you.


  • Pick Up an Application:
    Stop by Hunter's Welcome Center to pick up an application. The Welcome Center is located in the North Building (Entrance is on 69th Street between Lexington & Park Avenue) on the first floor, Room 100 and is open from 9AM to 5PM Monday to Thursday and 10AM to 4PM on Fridays. Applications are also available outside of the office, so you can stop by at your convenience.

Step 2: Register
After completing and returning the application, students will be mailed registration and enrollment information. Registration for non-degree students begins in April 14, 2009.

Non-CUNY Students: Graduate

Non-CUNY Students interested in registering for graduate courses must complete an application for graduate non-matriculated admission and pay a $125 application fee which is collected at the time of first registration. Graduate Non-Matriculated Summer Session Application Deadline: April 15th
(Applications received after the deadline will be considered based on space availability.)
After completing and returning the application, students will be mailed registration and enrollment information.
