Visiting Students

Students visiting from other institutions are welcome at Hunter College!  Come spend your summer on the Upper East Side. Commute from home or live on campus. Take a couple of courses, head to Central Park to study in the sun, visit Hunter’s very own art gallery or hit the nearby Museum Mile after class.

Students are advised to submit completed applications for the Summer Session by April 1st. However, apply as soon as possible to ensure access to the best available courses and avoid late registration fees. Click here for summer sessions schedule and tuition information.

Course Information

Hunter College offers a wealth of courses in the liberal arts and social sciences to Visiting Students.  Please note that courses in math and the sciences are typically not available to Visiting Students as the seats in these courses are usually occupied by Hunter College’s continuing students.  However, should you find a space in a math or science course for which you qualify, you are more than welcome to register for it.  Visiting Students use the Non-Degree Admission application to apply.

Events and Activities

Hunter College offers a wide range of events and activities.  From renowned guest speakers to seminars and social events, Hunter College has as much to offer outside of the classroom as inside.  New York is in exciting place to be any time of year but summer is especially packed with incredible and often free events. Hunter College Facilities and Resources

The college’s facilities and resources are available to visiting students.  Visiting students may make use of the college’s wonderful libraries, free fitness center that  that includes a cardio/weight room, pool, and aerobics classes; health services office; on campus art gallery, Starbucks and cafe.

Living on Campus

A little known fact about Hunter College – yes we have dorms! The Hunter College Residence Hall is located on the College's Brookdale Campus at 425 East 25th Street, New York, NY 10010 in Downtown Manhattan and has over 600 rooms.  The dorm is open to visiting students attending classes this summer.  If you are interested in living on campus this summer, click here.
