REN RATS by Rob Cardazone
KAREN (20s). Attractive young actress, rebounding from a bad relationship and acting at the Renaissance faire for the first time. Must be able to do an English accent. Experience with Shakespeare/verse. Changes costume on stage. JOHNNY (20s) A gay musical theatre performer who plays the role of the gypsy jester at the Renaissance Faire. Ironic, flamboyant, mostly sweet but a little bitchy. (Romanian Gypsy accent or Scottish/Cockney when playing the jester; depending on ethnicity). Changes costume on stage. MICHAEL (Leading man, 20s - 30s) athletic build, classically handsome. He is a professional actor who plays the leading man (Sir Robert Dudley) at the Renaissance Faire. Must be able to do an English accent. Experience with Shakespeare/verse, and stage combat necessary. Appears in underwear. LIZ (40s) Formerly a Shakespearean actress, she now directs the Renaissance Faire. Strong, imposing, seductive, smokey. Experience with Shakespeare/verse.
WESTWARD MUTATIONS by Kristen Palmer
DOCTOR: Female or Male, late 30-50s. Professional in appearance and attitude, careful with words, a scientist. EDIE: Female, 20-30. Eager, young professional, tenacious. Comic timing. BICKIE: Male, late teens- early 20s. Trusting, devoted friend. Somewhat naïve of the world. Hopeful. Dedicated to Jess.
