Character breakdowns for Hunter student roles
REN RATS
by Rob Cardazone
KAREN (20s). Attractive young actress, rebounding from a bad relationship and acting at the Renaissance faire for the first time. Must be able to do an English accent. Experience with Shakespeare/verse. Changes costume on stage. JOHNNY (20s) A gay musical theatre performer who plays the role of the gypsy jester at the Renaissance Faire. Ironic, flamboyant, mostly sweet but a little bitchy. (Romanian Gypsy accent or Scottish/Cockney when playing the jester; depending on ethnicity). Changes costume on stage. MICHAEL (Leading man, 20s - 30s) athletic build, classically handsome.  He is a professional actor who plays the leading man (Sir Robert Dudley) at the Renaissance Faire.  Must be able to do an English accent.  Experience with Shakespeare/verse, and stage combat necessary.  Appears in underwear. LIZ (40s) Formerly a Shakespearean actress, she now directs the Renaissance Faire. Strong, imposing, seductive, smokey. Experience with Shakespeare/verse.
