Master Class with Hilma Wolitzer: The Long and the Short of it

Take an intensive master class in the art of writing the novel and/or the short story. What are the essential differences between the two forms, aside from length, and which is better for your material? Participants are invited to bring in one or two pages of a started project, and we’ll discuss possible trajectories for the characters and their story line. We’ll also address other relevant aspects of craft (and commerce), and talk about novels/stories we love and that inform our work. The atmosphere will be friendly, lively, and democratic.

Date: Saturday, September 30, 2017
Time: 1:00-5:00pm
To register, call 212-772-4295 or email twcce@hunter.cuny.edu.
