TTLG Staff

Gina Cherry, Ph.D., Program Manager/Senior Educational Technologist

Gina has worked in educational technology as a researcher, faculty member, and educational technologist for more than 15 years.  As a member of the TTLG team, Gina consults with faculty and coordinates the FITT and Tech Thursday programs.  Her current interests include ePortfolios, social networking technologies, mobile computing, and interactive mapping.   Before coming to Hunter in 2004, Gina was
a faculty member at Marymount College, a research scientist at the University of Washington, and a tenant organizer in subsidized housing in San Francisco. Gina holds a Master's in Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Dermot Foley, Educational Technologies Assistant

Dermot assists Hunter faculty and the TTLG team, with a focus on ePortfolios and web-based conferencing for teaching and learning.  Dermot is currently a doctoral student in the department of Curriculum and Teaching at Teachers College, Columbia University, where he has served as a student teacher supervisor and a guest lecturer on assistive technology. Before joining the TTLG team, Dermot was a field consultant and adjunct instructor of education at Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus in the NYC Department of Education Fellowship Program. He has taught both general and special education classes (grades K-8) and holds a Master of Science degree in Language and Learning from the College of New Rochelle.
Nancy Guerrero, Educational Technologist

Nancy has over 20 years of experience helping faculty use technology in their teaching.  As a member of the TTLG team, Nancy consults with faculty and facilitates workshops focused on a variety of topics, including wikis, web-based conferencing, clickers, and blogs.  Before joining the TTLG, Nancy worked with Hunter's Reading Writing Center and Writing Across the Curriculum program - organizing one of Hunter's first computer labs for students, developing electronic learning resources, and consulting with faculty on the use of digital tools to help students develop research and writing skills.  Nancy also collaborated with WAC and library faculty to produce an award-winning online MLA tutorial.  Nancy holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Hunter College.
Shiao-Chuan Kung, Ed.D., Educational Technologist

Shiao-Chuan helps faculty find effective strategies for incorporating a range of technologies in their teaching and facilitates teaching and learning with technology workshops. Shiao-Chuan's interests include the design of blended learning courses, podcasting, and clickers.  Shiao-Chuan holds an Ed.D. in Instructional Technology and Media from Teachers College, Columbia University. She has taught Hypermedia and Education at Teachers College and technology-related courses at City College. Before joining Hunter, she was Assistant Professor in the Department of Foreign Language Instruction at the Wenzao Ursuline College of Languages in Taiwan. She has published papers in peer-reviewed journals such as Academic Exchange Quarterly, Educause Quarterly, Educational Media International, ELT Journal, and ReCALL.
