Creating a Web-Based Resource for the Black Rock Forest at Hunter
Allan Frei (Geography) and Deborah Gardner (Teacher Academy)
| The Black Rock Forest is a 3800-acre site for field-based scientific research and education. As a member of the Black Rock Forest Consortium, the Hunter community participates in promoting research, education, and conservation at the Black Rock Forest and has access to Black Rock Forest facilities. Professors Frei and Gardner created a Hunter Black Rock Forest web site to make the Hunter community aware of the resources available to them and to share information about research and educational activities at the Forest. The site has links to reports from past field trips, descriptions of research projects being conducted by faculty from several Hunter departments, and student reflections on their experiences in the Black Rock Forest. The site will eventually link to research data and materials for course curricula. |
