Although wiki tools were originally designed to facilitate collaboratively constructed web sites, many instructors have found that they are also good tools for enabling individual students to share and publish their work online. In this session, two faculty members discussed how they have "repurposed" available wiki tools as electronic portfolios and online newspapers. Professor Elaine Gale used the wikis available in Blackboard to enable graduate students to submit and get feedback on their student teaching work, creating a portfolio of their work over the course of the semester. Professor Marquita Eckert-Pool used Wetpaint to allow students in a journalism course to publish their stories online.
