Interactive whiteboard technologies
| Ronnie Ancona (Latin) | Judy Schwartz (Special Education) |
April 8, 2010
Interactive whiteboard technologies, such as Smartboards and the Interwrite pad, can be used in class to engage students and foster interaction. In this session, Ronnie Ancona discussed and demonstrated how she uses the Interwrite pad in her Latin classes. The Interwrite pad is a small, wireless, pen-based input device, which Professor Ancona and her students used to mark up and annotate Latin text. Judy Schwartz discussed and demonstrated how she uses a Smartboard and Smartboard notebook software in K-12 and teacher education. Professor Schwartz discussed how Smartboards can be used for simulations (e.g., a frog dissection), games, and image annotation.
