Using ePortfolios to enhance students' cultural and linguistic awareness

Lisa Anderson and Aine Zimmerman demonstrated how ePortfolios can help to develop students' cultural and linguistic awareness. We  discussed:

  • how ePortfolios can prompt students to reflect on the language they encounter and use, and to articulate the challenges they face in the learning process.
  • how including revision and reflection in ePortfolios enables students to track both their progress and their changing perceptions.
  • how multimedia reflections and event creation in the ePortfolio can engage students in ways that paper portfolios do not.
