Kassem Nasser, Roosevelt Scholar, Class of 2016
Tell us about yourself:
I'm a native New Yorker of Lebanese descent. Before coming to Hunter, I attended the Hackley School, where I played varsity football and track and field. I was also involved in political activities and cultural and diversity awareness programs. At Hunter, I joined the Model United Nation team, winning awards with my team for our school.
How has your scholarship helped you?
The Roosevelt Scholars program has provided many benefits, such as visits to the United Nations and the opportunity to complete an internship with the New York City Council under Speaker Christine Quinn. The future holds many more experiences, including a visit to the U.S. Supreme Court this December. Overall, I am honored to be a Roosevelt Scholar and a student at Hunter College.
