How has your scholarship helped you?
The scholar programs offered through Hunter College have helped to foster my numerous academic passions. Through the Jenny Hunter Scholarship I was introduced to many helpful and enthusiastic advisors who made an effort to keep in contact and to provide me and other students with any opportunity that came their way. The most difficult thing coming into Hunter was trying to figure out what to major in, I was attracted to a number of studies: Creative Writing, Philosophy, Political Science, Religion. I was free to jump between disciplines as I pleased thanks to the Thomas Hunter Program and the opportunities that came with their encouragement of interdisciplinary studies. The cross-disciplinary colloquium offered through Thomas Hunter will help me experiment in classes that are outside my realm of comfort, helping me to further push my academic horizons.
