2nd Degree Students

 

Overview

A student who holds one bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university may be admitted Hunter to earn a second bachelor’s degree.

A student pursuing a second degree must select a different major from the first degree. The first degree must have been earned at a regionally-accredited college or university. Second degree students are required to complete general education core requirements (GER) and courses required for the major.

Criteria 

Second degree students follows the same criteria as a transfer student.
  • 0-13.9 Credits Earned
    Applicants must satisfy freshman admission criteria and present a cumulative college grade point average of a least 2.3.
  • 14-23.9 Credits Earned
    Applicants must satisfy freshman admission criteria and present a cumulative college grade point average of a least 2.3.

    OR - A cumulative grade point average of 2.5 regardless of high school academic average.

  • 24 or More Credits Earned
    A cumulative college grade point average of at  least 2.3.
  • Holders of CUNY AA or AS Degrees
    A cumulative college grade point average of at least 2.3.
  • Holders of BA, BS Degrees
    A cumulative college grade point average of at least 2.3.

Applying 

All CUNY applications must be filed online. Any personal computer or laptop can be used to complete the online application. However, for optimal results, please use Internet Explorer as your web browser. Applicants who need access to a computer can visit a public library, a public access computer lab, or one of CUNY’s Manhattan Welcome Centers. You can begin the online filing process by going to the CUNY website.

Deadlines

Fall Deadline: February 1
CUNY operates on a rolling admission basis; however, colleges and programs may close before the deadline.


Spring Deadline: October 1
The Admission Application deadline for the Spring 2010 has now passed. Although the application for Spring 2010 is still available, we cannot guarantee the review of applications submitted at this time.
