STUDENT AWARDS COMMITTEE

At the end of the conference, awards are given to people who present the best poster presentations and oral presentations.  How are these awards be determined? How are they judged? What makes for a good poster or presentation anyway?  The Student Awards Committee decides how awards are determined each year.

Students applied and 6 were accepted. Here are the students from the committee for the 2013 conference:

Our 2013 Student Awards Committee hard at work!

Tejal Desai (Anthropology)
Justin Goldstein (Psychology)
Stephen Knight (Nursing)
Viacheslav Manichev (Chemistry)
Rosemery Membreno (Chemistry)

What does the Student Awards Committee do?

  • Develops the method for how presentations will be fairly judged
  • Learns what makes for a good research poster or presentation
  • Works with faculty and researchers at Hunter
  • Holds a leadership position on a Hunter College-wide committee
  • Commits a short amount of time – only 6 meetings!
