The Office of the Provost, the Undergraduate Research Initiative and Hunter’s Science Mathematics Opportunities Network (SciMON) held Hunter’s first annual Undergraduate Research Conference on March 20th and 21st, 2013 (photos here). The conference provides a forum for Hunter undergraduates from all disciplines and departments to present their research or scholarship via poster sessions and oral presentations. The conference also includes sessions and workshops on various topics, e.g. research opportunities, careers in STEM and preparing for and thriving in graduate school. An awards ceremony is held honoring the best student posters and oral presentations as well as faculty excellence in mentoring undergraduates in research scholarship.
