Areas of Specialization

Urban Public Health is a multi-disciplinary field.

Urban Public Health combines the expertise of a number of different academic disciplines.   The core areas include: epidemiology and biostatistics, social and behavioral dimensions of health, environmental health and safety, health policy, administration and management. Some related areas of specialization include: public health nutrition, reproductive and family health, gerontology, aging and longevity, public health demography.

The different areas of specialization or tracks, are:

  • Community Health Education (COMHE)
  • Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences  (EOHS)
  • Public Health Nutrition (NUTR)
  • Epidemiology and Biostatistics (EPI-BIOS)
  • Public Health Policy & Management  (HPM)
  • Community Health Nursing/ Public Health (MSN/MPH)
