Career Development Services

Our staff provides comprehensive career services to students and alumni. Counselors are available to help you choose a major/career path, creat a strong resume and cover letter, and prepare for job and internship interviews. We offer a wide variety of events such as careers expos, workshops, career panels, and on-campus employer interviews and information sessions. Job and internships are available through our online database ORION, We encourage you to visit us often, beginning in your freshman year and continuing through senior year and graduation. Counseling & Wellness Services

Provides mental health, health and wellness services aimed at enhancing students's quality of life and maximizing personal and academic growth and development.

Counseling Services

Provides short-term individual counseling, crisis intervention, psycho-education, outreach, and referral to the Hunter College student body, as well as consultation services to faculty, staff, and students and others.

Learning Centers/Tutors

Hunter offers a variety of tutoring, multimedia materials, technical support, reference libraries, learning workshops, and study groups to support student success. Discover which of these resources may benefit your academic journey.

Academic Support

The Leona & Marcy Chanin Language Center

The Chanin Language Center is a specially designed space for Hunter students who wish to study foreign languages. The space is designed so that students are afforded ample opportunity to practice the foreign language being studied through films, audio and video programs, and interactive computer language applications available to indvidual students and classes.


The Rockowitz Writing Center

A comprehensive service for the entire Hunter community, offering tutorial assistance and academic support to all registered students both undergraduate and graduate, as well as technical assistance and development to faculty and staff.


The Socrates Center

The Socrates Center is a multimedia learning center for biology students. It is a quiet place to study, connect with other students and utilize a number of computers, audiovisual and printed resources. Students may also use our computers to write papers, check e-mail and browse the Internet. In addition BIOL 100/102 instructors hold their offices hours in the Center. Tutoring in biology is also available. Non-biology students may use the Center as well.

The Physcial Science Learning Center

The Physical Science Learning Center provided individual tutoring, on a walk-in basis, for students enrolled in physics, chemistry and astronomy courses. Workshops and group tutoring sessions are also offered for selected topics. State-of-the-art computers with Internet service and appropriate programs are readily available. An extensive library, containing physical science textbooks, problem solution manuals and videos are provided for the students. The Center encourages students to learn and work with their peers.


The Dolciani Mathemathics Learning Center

The Dolciani Mathematics Learning Center offers many support services in mathematics. At the Center, students have access to tutoring services for various math and statistics courses, multimedia materials on most statistics courses, a reference library, and help with study skills in mathematics.


Additional Support

The Children's Learning Center

The Children's Learning Center is a quality child care learning facility for the children of Hunter College students. We provide a rich, developmentally appropriate enviornments for children while their parents attend classes or perform other college-related work. We offer a Preschool Program for children ages 2.5 to age 6, and an After-School Program for children ages 6-12. Programs are offered during the academic calendar, as well as during both summer sessions.
