An open house that lifts the lid off everything.
You already know Hunter College is close to the subway, and that it offers a free ride to every incoming MFA student.
But what about the details? What’s a Hunter writing workshop really like? What will you learn? Is Hunter really better than College C or D or E? Are the students full of attitude? Are the walls splashed with writers’ blood? Can you get a degree and keep a job? Do the professors like to teach? For that matter, who will actually teach you? Do you get the help you need? How can you find out all this vital information? The answers await you on the left. Please click.
The best way to get the real picture, the warts-and-all portrait, the truly uncensored view of what The Village Voice called the best MFA in New York City, is to come to our next Open House, which takes place once a year, in the Fall (date TBA). You’ll meet our faculty (and if you’re smart you’ll have already read their books) and you’ll have extremely frank conversations with our existing students. The event, as always, is in Hunter's Kaye Playhouse (on East 68th Street between Park & Lex). RSVP here.
If you're unable to make it to the Open House, however, you'll still find plenty of information about the program, right here on this website.
