NCATE RESOURCES FILE:
1. ACRONYMS is a guide to all the acronyms use by NCATE in alphabetical order.
2. DEBATE was an article in USA today in Dec. 2001 about how to lessen the teacher shortage
3. HANDBOOK for accreditation in pdf format, you should be receiving your own copy shortly
4. HART_TEETER is an article by Arthur Wise about teacher quality.
5. M_NCATE_RE links you directly to a variety of NCATE web sites if you are on-line when you click on it.
6. NEWS RELEASE tells how NCATE status is now being used by US news and World Report in college rankings.
7. PROGRAM_REVIEW_TIMELINE tells when specialty association standards were first adopted, when revised, and when they are due for review.
8. ROTHSTEIN is an article that appeared in the New York Times by Richard Rothstein about what he saw when he was allowed to go on an accreditation visit with a BOE team.
9. SPEAKERS GUIDE is just that—NCATE tips and talking points for you to use when you are asked to speak about accreditation or other issues facing teacher education.
10. STAFF LIST is a list of names, positions, and e-mail addresses for NCATE staff.
11. TEN STEP is an article in Education Week about how to boost scores in low-performing urban schools, written by Arthur Wise and Marcia Levine
12. TITLE2 discusses federal Title 2 which requires the reporting of teacher graduates’ test scores on state licensing tests.  It also discusses the implications of those scores in terms of teacher quality.
13. UNIT_STNDS are the NCATE standards for 2002.  You will have your own bound, paper copy.
