to the Department of English at Hunter College.
The Department of English at Hunter
College offers a wide variety of undergraduate- and graduate-level
classes in literary study, writing (including creative writing),
and linguistics. We currently have more than 1,500 undergraduate
English majors, making the department Hunter’s largest and
most dynamic.
Our three Masters programs are growing, and we offer courses for
teachers, creative writers, and those interested in pursuing the
Ph.D. in English.
Located in the heart of Manhattan, at 68th Street and Lexington
Avenue, the Department participates actively in the intellectual
and creative life of Hunter and of New York City, featuring frequent
visits by renowned writers and scholars.
