Abigail Burnham Bloom, Adjunct Assistant Professor, earned her PhD in English Literature from New York University in 1989.

Her research interests include Victorian women's autobiographies and Victorian novels and their movie adaptations. She has published articles on Anne Thackeray Ritchie, Anna Jameson, Thomas Carlyle, and Jane Welsh Carlyle and edited two books: Nineteenth-Century British Women Writers (2000) and Anne Thackeray Ritchie: Journals and Letters (1995) with John Maynard. Professor Bloom is also Managing Editor of the journal Victorian Literature and Culture. She started teaching at Hunter in the fall of 2000.
