Meena Alexander is Distinguished Professor of English at Hunter College and the Graduate Center. She is a poet, memoirist and literary scholar. She has received numerous awards, these include fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, Fulbright Foundation and Rockefeller Foundation.
