Branch Information

Go Back HomeAs this electronic forum has grown larger, some members who would like to discuss items of specialized interest within the profession have felt reticent to post messages to the whole membership when the item might be of interest to only a few netters. Consequently, we have started some special-interest "branches" or sub-lists of TESL-L, as listed below: Messages described below must be sent to the Listserv (the "computer robot" program that handles administrative matters) at: LISTSERV@LISTSERV.CUNY.EDU

To join a branch, you must already be a member of TESL-L. All members of TESL-L are eligible to join any or all of the special interest branches (which are listed below). A member of TESL-L can also elect to suspend mail on TESL-L and some branches and still continue to receive mail from other branches. Then, send a message to the Listserv, saying: SUB TESLxx-L
(You don't need to put your name in a request to join a branch because your name is already on record as a member of TESL-L)

NOTE: After you have typed in the command to join, press <enter> 5 or 6 times to separate out any signature or commercial files that might be inserted into your message and cause confusion for the mail robot.

NOTE: You can also join branches and read mail online. See "LISTSERV on the web"
