About Our Services


Our office is here to assist you with all of your accommodations related to academic success.

However, you also need to seek assistance in a reasonable and timely manner, and be able to function in as independent a manner as possible. You are expected to follow appropriate health regimens, and secure appropriate medical and therapeutic assistance from qualified practitioners at Hunter College or in your area. You will also need to arrange any additional support services (eg., transportation, individual monitoring of needs, financial assistance, or personal care) that Hunter College does not provide.

  • Please note that all in person exam accommodations will be offered during 9- 5 pm via appointments following social distancing requirements. During midterm and final examination period the center is open 9:00 am-7:00 pm (Monday -Thursdays) and at 9:00-5:00 pm on Fridays. *During midterms/finals: Operational hours for exams will extend: Mon-Thurs 9-7:00pm.  For Summer and Winter Hours of Operations, please consult our website

    During the summer/winter sessions and spring break, the testing hours will be 9AM-5PM. During summer session the college is closed on Fridays.

  • The Access & Technology Center, located in Room 300 North Building, serves as a place for students to network, socialize, attend specialized workshops, club meetings and take exams. The Access & Technology Center offers adaptive technology and individualized computer training for students with disabilities. The adaptive technology is especially helpful to students who have learning disabilities, visual and hearing impairments.

  • The Office of AccessABILITY serves as a Voter Registration Site. We provide forms in the main office (E1214B). Counselors in Office of AccessABILITY will provide voter registration forms to studentsat the time of their registration with the office.The office and its center will provide assistance with completion of forms on a walk-in basis and at all times.Posters announcing this serviceis alsoplaced at various places around campus. Registration forms, instructions and deadlines can also be obtained on line on the New York City Board of Elections website

  • New Studentswith disabilities at the Silberman School of Social Workmay contact the Office of Student Services for general information and referral to the Office of AccessABILITY at Hunter College. Continuing Studentswith disabilities may contact the Office of Student Services for assistance with implementation of accommodations (as per AccessABILITY recommendations). The Office of Student Services is located on the third floor of Silberman in Rooms 304 & 306 and may be reached at (212) 396-750.

  • The Section 504 Coordinator at Hunter College, Assistant Professor Lauren K. Schnell, is responsible for enforcement of the provisions of Section 504. She may be contacted in 929 Hunter West, 212-650-3150 or her email address Students may obtain the necessary form, which contains instructions for filing, from the Office of Student Services in Room 1119 Hunter East.

  • Office of AccessABILITY works closely with Advising, Counseling and Wellness Services offices.
