Faculty Seminar on Neoliberalism to Present Dr. Jamie Peck on 'Framing Detroit' at Roosevelt House
The Faculty Seminar on Neoliberalism will present Jamie Peck, the Canada Research Chair in Urban & Regional Political Economy at the University of British Columbia, in a talk at Roosevelt House on Friday, November 13, from 4-5:30pm; Professor Peck will deliver a talk entitled, 'Framing Detroit: Technocratic Rule, Structural Adjustment, Neoliberal Transformation,' that will 'explore some of the implications of the crisis of crisis management in Detroit, the symbolic home of metropolitan failure in the United States, and now the staging ground for a new round of urban-renaissance narratives.' The Faculty Seminar on Neoliberalism has been organized by Professor Sanford Schram, of the Political Science Department, and Professor Marianna Pavlovskaya, of the Geography Department.
