Professor Mandë Holford’s Work on Venomics is Featured in This Week’s Issue of C&E News
Professor Mandë Holford’s work on venomics is featured in this week’s issue of Chemical & Engineering News, the largest scientific publication in the world. "Venoms are attractive as sources of potential therapeutics because the effect they have on prey means 'we know they work,' says Holford, an assistant chemistry professor at Hunter College who also has a research appointment at the American Museum of Natural History. 'We have to figure out where they work and how they work. But we know that the pool we're starting with has funtionally bioactive components in it.'"
