Overview
The priority for language tutors is to support Hunter College undergraduates taking courses in order to meet the language proficiency requirement. Faculty and staff members who are enrolled in a Hunter College degree program and have not met the language proficiency requirement should feel free to use the tutoring services. However, these sessions should be limited to no more than 20 minutes per day. Faculty and staff members who are enrolled in a Hunter College degree program and have met the language proficiency requirement, as well as all non-degree-seeking students and alumni, should not use the tutoring services. Instead, they should use the language programs available in the Chanin Language Center Computer Labs, participate in departmental conversation tables, and/or employ individual tutors recommended by the foreign language department chairs.
Winter 2026 tutoring sessions will begin on Monday, January 5.
