Carol A. Silverman, PhD, MPH, CCC-A is a professor in the Communication Sciences Program at Hunter College and also Deputy Executive Officer and Professor at the CUNY AuD Program. The CUNY AuD Program, a consortium program involving Hunter College, the Graduate Center, and Brooklyn Colleges, offers the Doctor of Audiology degree. She holds a PhD in Audiology from New York University and an MPH in Epidemiology from New York Medical College. Her research has been supported by the Veterans Administration, Department of Health and Human Services, private foundations, and the City University of New York. She has received honors and awards for various aspects of her career including academic excellence and excellence in research from New York Medical College, a New York State Speech-Language-Hearing Association Distinguished Achievement Award, and a New York City Speech-Language-Hearing Association Professional Achievement Award. Journals for which she has served as reviewer or editorial consultant include the following: American Journal of Audiology; Ear and Hearing; Journal of the American Academy of Audiology; Journal of Rehabilitation Research and Development; Language, Speech and Hearing Services in Schools; and Laryngoscope.
