Daedalus Scholars Program

The Daedalus Scholar Program empowers students to become thoughtful, skilled, and forward-thinking leaders in technology, no matter where their career paths take them.

The Daedalus Scholar Program is an opportunity for students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, practice creativity, and become the technology leaders of the future.

Computer Science

Daedalus scholars either major or minor in Computer Science. Getting a quality computer science education is always beneficial, even if you're not sure you want to be a software engineer.

Networking and Technical Skills

Scholars learn the networking and technical skills needed to achieve their goals. They bring professionalism to their workplaces and treat peers with respect.

Creating Technology

Computational thinking and having awareness about the world of technology are necessary skills for succeeding in any field today. Daedalus Scholars are passionate about creating technology that will improve the quality of life for many generations to come.

Opportunities

Daedalus Scholars have a number of special opportunities, including:

  • Mentorship programs with leading companies in the NYC tech industry
  • Hackathons where you can win prizes and work on projects for online portfolios
  • Workshops and tech talks by industry professionals to bridge the gap between academia and industry
  • Guidance on career options, internships, and interview preparedness
  • Social events such as nature walks and museum trips
  • Tuition awards and preferred access to residential housing and housing aid
  • Priority registration for classes
  • A dedicated faculty mentor and academic advisors to help them succeed at Hunter

The purpose of the Daedalus program is not only to strengthen the computer science aptitude of scholars but also to provide a community for scholars where goals are aligned.
