The MGU International Student Program (ISP) provides an opportunity for English-speaking students with limited Japanese language skills to pursue undergraduate studies at the Yokohama campus, located in Kanagawa Prefecture.
The aim of this program is to provide a creative academic environment for studies pertaining to Japan and the Japanese language for students who have studied Japanese for a minimum of one year at the university level. The International Student Program welcomes exchange students from partner universities located in Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania.
Exchange students are required to stay in the Yokohama dorm.
There are a limited number of scholarships through JASSO available for exchange students studying in Japan. Accepted students are automatically considered for this award.
For more information (including estimated costs/expenses for a semester), visit the MGU website.
All students participating in the exchange program are required to enroll in the CUNY comprehensive travel insurance policy through Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI) in addition to the Japanese National Health Insurance.
