Costa Rica

Hunter College joins forces with the International Center for Development Studies (ICDS) and Hospital Clinica Biblica to offer students planning to enter health professions a six-week program, which will provide them the opportunity to explore health care issues in a developing country while furthering their Spanish language skills and gaining an understanding of the life and culture of Costa Rica.

Dates: June 30 - August 13, 2016

Spanish & Community Health in Latin America

This program offers participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in critical inquiry about English language teaching. Students will directly experience teaching English as a foreign language by serving as a volunteer teacher in a Costa Rican English teaching program. Students will simultaneously engage in Spanish language learning at their proficiency level at the Universidad Latina

Teaching English in Global Contexts


This field course provides students with a unique opportunity to gain research experience in the field by participating in a study of the vocalizations and behavior of wild dolphins.

Field Studies in Animal Behavior & Commnunication

Canary Islands

This program will offer a nontraditional view of the Spanish Conquest of the Americas and the Canary Islands through the study of historical, literary, artistic and cultural texts.

Decentering the Spanish Conquest


This program will explore the diversity of theatrical offerings in London and vicinity, providing a wideranging rich understanding of British theater practiced today, both traditonal and modern.

Dates: July 16 - August 12, 2016

Contemporary British Theatre


This program, run at the prestigious L'Universite de Technologie de Compiegne (UTC). CUNY students will study alongside students from different countries of Europe.

Dates: July 1 - July 30, 2016

French Language Immersion


The program takes place at DIALOG-Institut in Kassel. Kassel, the regional capital of the Hesse region for over a thousand years, with spectacular palaces and parks that witness the city's past glory.

Dates: 4-week sessions in June, July, or August

German Language Immersion


The Central Mediterranean Archaeology program takes places in two locations in Sicily: Stromboli,a volcanic island in the Aeolian Archipelago, and Cannatello, on the southern coast of Sicily.

Sicily: Central Mediterranean Archeology


The program, organized in cooperation with the Kosciuszko Foundation and offered at the prestigious Jagiellonian University, includes intensive Polish language instructions.

The experience of living and working on the North Atlantic island of Rousay immerses students in northern maritime ecology and provides a chance to do real field science as part of an international team.
