Distinguished Writers Series: Lauret Savoy
Free Admission

Lauret Edith Savoy is a writer, teacher, photographer and pilot. Her nonfiction, which explores cultural narratives and human relationships to land, has garnered multiple awards and critical acclaim. Her most recent book, Trace: Memory, History, Race, and the American Landscape, was the winner of the 2017 ASLE Creative Writing Award and the 2016 American Book Award from the Before Columbus Foundation. She is a professor of environmental studies at Mount Holyoke College, known for her deep engagement with thorny issues of race, culture, history and geology.
