Fifth Planet poster
Join us for a pre-show talk with the Tony and Pulitzer Award winning writer of Fifth Planet and Other Plays, playwright David Auburn. Dramaturg Christine Scarfuto will lead a conversation about Auburn's career, writing practice, and creative process, which will be followed by a Q&A with the audience. Director Phillip Christian Smith will join the conversation as well to discuss the Hunter College production of Fifth Planet and Other Plays.
 
David Auburn is a playwright, screenwriter, and director best known for his play Proof, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and Tony Award for Best Play in 2001. He attended the University of Chicago and later studied at Juilliard. He is also known for his plays The Columnist (Broadway, 2012) and Lost Lake (Manhattan Theatre Club, 2014). He wrote screenplays for The Lake House and The Girl in the Park, which he also directed. Auburn holds positions at the Columbia School of the Arts and the Berkshire Theatre Group.
 
Tickets for the talk and performance are free with a Hunter ID in person at the Kaye Playhouse box office.
