Seminar: Temisan Agbeyegbe (Hunter College)
Dr. Temisan (Terence) Agbeyegbe is a Professor in the Department of Economics at Hunter College, joining in 1989 after spending six years on the faculty of Rutgers University. At Hunter, Dr. Agbeyegbe acts as faculty sponsor for the Investment and Trading Society as well as the African Student Union.
Outside of Hunter, Dr. Agbeyegbe is a research associate with the Caribbean Center for Monetary Studies, University of the West Indies, and has held advisory and consulting positions with international agencies, such as the United Nations (UNDP, UNECA) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Dr. Agbeyegbe has also served as executive editor of the Journal of Asian Economics, associate editor of Evaluation Review, associate editor of the Journal of African Finance and Economic Development (now the Journal of African Development) and associate editor of New Economic Papers-Caribbean.
Dr. Agbeyegbe’s main research interests include energy and resource economics, financial economics, time series econometrics and trade development economics. As a professor at Hunter, he regularly teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on macroeconomics and financial economics.
Dr. Agbeyegbe obtained his BA and PhD in economics from the University of Essex. He also holds two MS degrees from the London School of Economics and the University College London.
