Applicants who have completed all or part of their university studies in a non-US institution and/or require student visas must submit their applications no later than February 1 to be considered for Fall admission.
Admission Requirements:
You must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for admission. Meeting these minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance to the program.

A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution comparable in standard and content to a bachelor’s degree from Hunter College - College & University Transcripts

Minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.0.
- At least 12 credits of undergraduate courses in psychology, including one course in statistics and one laboratory course in experimental psychology.
- Official score report of the GRE (For information on taking the GRE, visit www.GRE.org). *GREs are waived for the Fall 2023 incoming class.

Two letters of recommendation from appropriate academic or professional sources.

Applicants should submit a statement of purpose of approximately two (2) double-spaced pages in which they do ALL of the following:
Describe their research experience, if any
Discuss their research and intellectual interests and potential research questions they might pursue in the MA program
Indicate which faculty member(s) they might want to work with and explain why
Discuss how their academic and/or professional background has prepared them to do well in the MA program
Address any weaknesses in their application (e.g., poor grades, lack of research experience)
- *Prior to applying to the program, applicants may want to contact faculty with whom they would like to work.
- Applicants whose native language is not English and who have taken all or part of their undergraduate education in a country where English is not the native language are required to submit scores on the TOEFL/IELTS. The following minimum scores must be obtained:
- TOEFL iBT: 80/ Paper Based Test: 550/ Computer Admisnistered Test: 213
- IELTS: 6.5 Overall Band Score
