Welcome to the Hunter College Center for Gifted Studies & Education

The mission of the Hunter College Center for Gifted Studies and Education is to support and empower gifted students, their teachers, and their families by playing a leading role in research, teacher training, and the development of curriculum, program, and policies. Summer and Fall 2020 applications for matriculation (to start Adv. Cert. Program in Gifted Education) are now open!! Go to: to begin your application.   • Offer the Advanced Certificate Program in Gifted Education (4 courses; 12 credits; Gifted Certificate extension)
  • Conduct research on critical issues in gifted education
  • Engage collaboratively with Hunter College Campus Schools
  • Serve as a resource to the NYC Department of Education, with a target emphasis on the city-wide gifted schools, district-wide gifted programs, and specialized high schools
  • Sponsor national speakers, events, and programs highlighting best practices in gifted education
  • Provide professional development for teachers, administrators, and parents
