Summer Program

Why should you participate in the HCLPP Summer Institute?

  • Earn core credit at Vanguard!
  • Use HCLPP as a site for LTW at Harlem Renaissance and get paid!
  • Make new friends
  • Go on fun trips to colleges, bowling and many other unique sites around NYC!
  • Start working on college applications
  • Quell that summer boredom

When and where is the Summer Institute?
We will meet every day at Hunter College (68th Street and Lexington Avenue).  From there, we will leave as a group on days we have field trips planned.
More details coming soon as far as when the Institute will be held, but plan for afternoons during the month of July.

How do I sign up?
Talk to Brittany, Margaret or Olivia at your school today! The HCLPP Summer Institute is open to all students at Vanguard and Harlem Renaissance. All you need to do is have your parent sign a permission form and submit and you are ready to take advantage of a whole month of free activities!  But hurry, space is limited! Application will be available Spring 2016.

Please contact Tracey Weiss, the Program Director, at (212) 772-5516 for more information.

The HCLPP always offers me and other students many opportunities. They help to prepare students for college and for life after high school. Without them, there would be no individual and personal guidance as to which way to go after high school, or how to be become the greatest person one can be.

- Cinetta, HCLPP Student

They gave me the support that I was not getting at home and helped open my eyes and see the best future I can have.

 -Yusmary, HCLPP Alumni

I learned how to become a better educator because of the personal time I was able to spend with my students. The students and I have formed such a strong bond that we keep pushing ourselves to try our best because we do not want to let each other down. HCLPP has refined my outlook on teaching and has truly helped me reach my potential as an educator.

 -Sajeda, HCLPP Mentor
